According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an SUV ran into the back of a box truck early Friday morning, killing one person.

FHP said the crash happened on I-4 westbound exit 101 A-B near Lake Mary, just before 3 a.m. Friday.

Troopers said David McKenna, 33, of Lake Mary was killed.

The box truck driver, Mark Reich, 50, was hospitalized with minor injuries.

McKenna was traveling westbound on I-4 in the center lane at a high rate of speed, in excess of 100 mph, according to FHP.

Troopers said Reich was traveling westbound on I-4 in the center lane, ahead of McKenna, who then hit the back of the box truck.

The fatal crash shut down the westbound lanes for hours, but they have since reopened.

Troopers said they are investigating whether the crash was alcohol-related.
