A new bond hearing has been set for George Zimmerman, the former neighborhood watch volunteer charged in the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin.

According to a statement released Thursday morning by the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Court, the bond hearing for Zimmerman is set for Friday, June 29 at 9:30 a.m. in courtroom 5-D of the Criminal Justice Center in Sanford.

Circuit Judge Kenneth R. Lester will preside over the hearing.

Zimmerman’s attorney Mark O'Mara delayed his request to file a bond motion earlier this week because he said Zimmerman wouldn’t have any chance at bonding out for a few weeks.

"Because we know we can't get before the judge for a couple of weeks because of the judge's calendar," O'Mara said. "We'd rather go ahead and research it a little bit more and make it more complete."

Zimmerman returned to jail on Sunday, two days after his $150,000 bond was revoked.

Prosecutors said Zimmerman and his wife, Shellie, misled a judge about how much money he raised for his defense via a PayPal account at an April bond hearing.

At the hearing, Shellie Zimmerman testified that the couple had limited funds for bail because she was a full-time student and her husband wasn't working. Prosecutors said Zimmerman actually had raised $135,000 in donations from a website he created.

Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder and has pleaded not guilty.

Zimmerman and his attorney said they have received death threats, and O'Mara was even forced to make a 911 call last month.
