ORANGE COUNTY, FLA. —

An Orange County man accused of stalking a 14-year-old girl as she walked to school is out of jail Thursday morning.

Cristian Garcia, 37, bonded out of jail overnight after being arrested on Wednesday.

Deputies said he followed the girl to Robinswood Middle School every day for the past three weeks.

When Garcia was arrested he told investigators he had his 1-year-old son with him during the encounters.

He confirmed he'd driven down Hastings Street for three weeks and offered the girl rides, but he claims he didn't want to do anything sexual, according to officials.

"It seems like they need to get this type of people off the street, otherwise our children are going to be snatched away from here," said resident Sherril Bandon.

Garcia agreed to talk to WFTV in jail on Wednesday, but once the camera was turned on he made a bizarre claim.

"I thought it was the state attorney," said Garcia.

"No we're with a TV station. We're with WFTV. We just wanted to know about what happened," said WFTV reporter Ryan Hughes.

"Nothing really, I just like I said I would rather stay quiet, I don't want to make this more than it already is," said Garcia.

The victim told deputies the man would pull up in his car, roll down the window and say, 'Hey little princess do you want a ride?'"

When deputies questioned the girl she told them she thought Garcia was going to kidnap her.

She wasn't hurt.

"I mean I got kids of myself and I'd be very angry. I'd have a lot of hatred just on a personal level," said resident Andrew Morris.
