A Kissimmee pastor, who is accused of fraud and blamed a demon for past legal troubles, bonded out of the Osceola County jail Saturday morning.

Angel Perez-Nieves turned himself in to authorities Friday evening to face fraud charges.

Perez-Nieves is accused of stealing the Social Security numbers and addresses from members of his church congregation.

On Thursday when he showed up to turn himself in for the crime, the corrections officers at the Osceola County Jail had to turn Perez-Nieves away because they were unable to locate the active warrant, according to Kissimmee police.

Kissimmee detectives said they contacted Perez-Nieves’ attorney and advised them that a valid arrest warrant exists for Perez-Nieves. Perez-Nieves turned himself in successfully at about 5 p.m.

As the pastor of the Templo Pentecostal Puerta de Salvacion, investigators said he convinced some of his 100 members to hand him their personal information, but the scam came crashing down when one of the members got a call from an alarm company.

"I just warn people that it doesn't matter who they are, if somebody is asking for your personal information don't give it to them," said Stacie Miller of the Kissimmee Police Department.

But Maria Mota did.

Not too long after that she was contacted by an alarm company, which told her she was behind on her payments for their contract.

Then she remembered Perez asked for her personal information.

"She was confused. She didn't have an account with them. So that's when she came and reported it to us," said Miller.

Kissimmee police discovered Perez-Nieves forged documents for the contract using Mota's personal information.

The identity fraud victim declined to talk to WFTV.

This is not the first time the pastor has been in trouble.

In May, WFTV found out he was charged with molesting a 16-year-old boy.

Investigators said Perez-Nieves blamed it on a demon that possessed his body.
