During the early hours of Wednesday morning, Lake County Sheriff's deputies chased a Cadillac SUV through the city of Minneola. Detectives said the occupants of the truck were moving marijuana.

"It was under 2 pounds total weight, but it was packaged for personal use in individual packages -- as in ready for retail sale," said Sgt. Jim Vachon of the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said Derek Grady, Dijua Hicks, and a third man who got away, refused to stop after a deputy noticed an expired tag on their SUV.

Deputies used stop sticks to pop the tires. A deputy's dashcam video shows rubber and a piece of fender flying from the fleeing Cadillac.

The suspects finally drove into a ditch. Two of the three were quickly captured.

Along with the marijuana, deputies said they found a pistol and more than $3,000 in cash.

According to investigators, they seized an iPhone containing more proof the suspects were drug dealers.

"Text messages and emails back and forth about who owes who money for drugs," said Vachon.

Investigators said that the information from the phone could lead to more arrests.

"It's quite a bit of marijuana, but it's not a huge amount. So, they could be local dealers who got caught, or they could be part of something bigger. We just don't know yet," said Vachon.

The two suspects deputies caught were still in the Lake County Jail Thursday evening. They are still looking for the third suspect.
