SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. —

A man was arrested after he was caught exposing himself inside a Seminole County library, investigators said Thursday.

Witnesses told WFTV they called 911 after Edwin del Rosario was caught masturbating while sitting in the children's section of the Lake Mary branch of the Seminole County library system.

"There is a man masturbating in the library," a caller told the 911 operator.

"He's inside the library?" asked the operator.

"Yes," replied the caller.

Investigators said the 60-year-old exposed himself near three children.

"I think it's terrible. I think it's horrible. My gosh, you cannot even go to the library anymore," said Kerrie Swift, a Lake Mary resident.

Not only is the children's section right next to the front door, it's in clear view of the checkout counter.

The incident also happened in the middle of the day, which is one of the library's busiest times.

Katie Woodward said she takes her daughter to the library all the time, and she was disgusted.

"That is a pretty scary situation," said Woodward. "I would have been very concerned about that as a parent."

Del Rosario was behind a table, so one of the adults sat on the floor to make sure she wasn't just seeing things, and said that's when she saw his pants were unbuttoned.

The other adult stayed on the phone with deputies until they arrived.

Del Rosario was arrested in the parking lot, right before he was about to leave.

"I would have jumped on top of the person and beat the heck out of him. He would not have been walking away with the police. They would have been taking him to the hospital," Swift said.

Del Rosario was arrested on charges of lewd and lascivious behavior.

If convicted, he will have to register as a sex offender.

Del Rosario is in jail on $10,000 bail.

Investigators said if he is released, he will not be aloud to have contact with children.
