A 911 call was released following the arrest of three people accused of beating and then dragging a 54-year-old man behind a vehicle on Wednesday, but there are new details concerning the victim in the case.

According to police, Robert Hall is recovering after being dragged behind a truck and nearly beaten to death by his ex-wife, Jeanette Morris, 61, her brother Harold Anderson, 63, and their friend, Joan Hobart, 46.

Investigators said they believe the attack was sparked by the victim's jealous ex-wife, and investigators said Hall was shocked with a stun gun, beaten and dragged behind a the truck before he escaped to a neighbor's home.

But while digging through old police reports, Channel 9's Blaine Tolison learned Hall was actually arrested on suspicion of threatening to do the same thing to his ex-wife in the past.

In the past two years, deputies were called to the couple's home 11 times.

In one incident, Morris called 911, claiming Hall tried to run her over.

"My husband, he's been drinking and he just tried to run me over in the car," Hall told dispatchers.

In February, Morris told a 911 dispatcher about Hall's drinking and how she lived in fear.

"In drinking and vodka, he gets real mean," Morris said. "Real mean, you know? So, like I say, I don't want to live in fear of being hurt."

Hall was arrested on aggravated assault charges.

A report shows Morris tried to keep him from driving while drunk by pulling the keys from his car's ignition, and he said, ""I'll kill you and bury you out here."

"I just got to get out of this deal," Morris told 911 dispatchers. "I've got to somehow get out of this deal. I've been trying, and I can't get out of this deal."

Authorities said Morris and Anderson were charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, false imprisonment, aggravated battery and aggravated assault.

Investigators said Hobart will face the same charges as Morris and Anderson.
