VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. —
New Smyrna Beach is getting a new fire station.
The new station will be built at State Road 44 and Old Mission Road. It will replace the current firehouse near downtown.
New Smyrna firefighters will share the station with Volusia County.
A construction company will be chosen next month. The station is scheduled to open in 2014.
