Changes coming to a Central Florida mall may be another sign that the local economy is improving.

The Mall at Millenia near I-4 in Orlando just turned 10 years old, and some new, high-end retailers are moving into the mall.

The space of the former Bebe woman’s clothing store will become the space for Diesel.

The former Gordon's Jeweler is now going to be Cache.

The retail space that belonged to the Max Studio.com store will now be the newly relocated Mayor’s Jewelers.

"This is part of an evolution," said Mall at Millenia general manager Steven Jamieson. "With leases expiring, we are able to take a lot of stores on our waiting list and bring them to the Mall at Millenia.”

There are signs for a new Omega Boutique, YSL, Hugo Boss, Louis Vuitton and Michael Kors.

Others stores coming to the mall include Prada, Sephora, Splendid, H&M, Breitling, 7 for All Mankind and Capital Grille restaurant.

Once the mall is complete, shoppers will have two choices. They can shop at the luxury end of the mall or go to the other end where brands aren't necessary high-end luxury, but they are still in high demand.

WFTV found out the changes are the result of market research and local customers.

"They are looking for better goods, contemporary goods, exciting merchandise," said corporate director of marketing and operations, Michele Jacobs.

The growing tourist population is also bringing in dollars.

“There are other markets like Argentina, Colombia, the UK, and Canada that are also really important to us," said Jacobs.

Most of the barricades will come down in time for the busy spring shopping season.
