Authorities held a news conference on Tuesday to announce charges against a suspect in connection with a deadly Ocoee home invasion.

Investigators said that in early September gunmen kicked in the front door of the Ocoee home, where Alex Zaldivar, 19, lived with two friends, Brienna Campos and her brother, Remington.

Investigators believe Bessman Okafor was part of a group that dragged Zaldivar out of bed and shot him, execution-style, because he was a key witness scheduled to testify against Okafor and Nolan Bernard the next day for a previous home invasion at the same home.

Zaldivar's roommates were also shot, but both survived.

"It's devastating to lose our son in this way, you know," said Rafael Zaldivar, Alex Zaldivar's father.

Zaldivar's father, frustrated, angry and crying, lashed out at  Okafor and his girlfriend, Sherria Gordon. who is eight months pregnant with Okafor's child.

Gordon is charged with accessory to first-degree murder. Investigators said she lied repeatedly about the gun that may have been used.

"What they did to him was incomprehensible, the way he was executed. They will pay. I will make sure of that," said Zaldivar.

Okafor is already in jail. He was arrested shortly after Zaldivar's death for violating the condition of his bond.

Investigators said Okafor left home around the same time of the shooting.

Investigators said they expect more arrests.

"Please understand that detectives know Okafor and Gordon did not act alone," said Orlando Police Capt. John Mina.

Okafor has been in the Orange County Jail since September.  He was denied bond Wednesday afternoon.
