DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. —
Investigators said an 8-year-old girl started a fire that damaged a Daytona Beach home.
Fire crews were called to the home on Berkshire road near North Nova Road just before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
They said the girl had been playing with a lighter when her mattress caught fire.
An elderly man inside the home had to be treated for smoke inhalation.
No one else was hurt.
