ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —
A man accused of kidnapping and tying up a young woman has been released from the hospital and booked into the Orange County Jail.
Video from the Sheriff's Office shows deputies chasing and tackling 33-year-old John Kersey in the Vista del Lago subdivision on Monday.
Deputies said Kersey was actually breaking into a home when they found him, but he's also accused of kidnapping his 18-year-old neighbor.
According to deputies, the woman was walking along Nieves Drive about 4:15 p.m. Monday when Kervey kidnapped her at knife point and tied her up in a nearby residence.
Deputies said the woman was able to escape her captor and run to a nearby residence, where the owner called 911.
According to deputies, they used a bloodhound and the department's helicopter to track the suspected kidnapper.
Kervey was taken to the hospital after his arrest because of medical problems, deputies said.
Once released, he was booked into the Orange County Jail early Tuesday morning on armed kidnapping charges.
According to deputies, the woman suffered injuries to her wrists.
