Orange County business owner accused of buying, selling stolen property

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —

An Orange County business owner is facing two dozen charges after investigators said he knowingly bought and sold stolen property through his computer store.

Channel 9's Karla Ray spoke to employees at both Computers 4 Less locations, who said the owner, Reyder Cruz, is not the one who should be punished.

Employees at both stores told Channel 9 Cruz was running an honest business and that some of their coworkers were fired after being caught buying stolen items.

“(Cruz is) an innocent guy, a good guy, and a really hard-working guy,” said employee Rogelio Farinas.

“He is my boss and my cousin,” said Ray Rodriguez, who works in one of Cruz’s stores. “I've known him my whole life. He's a good person and I don't understand what is happening.”

But according to investigators, several customers admitted the store is known on the streets as a place to get cash for anything without having to supply identification.

During the investigation, agents said they conducted several undercover transactions including taking a cellphone and selling it at this store. Agents said they later found the same phone for sale on Cruz's eBay store, even though they told him it was stolen.

Cruz is jailed without bond on charges that include racketeering and dealing in stolen property.
