Orlando police officer accused of domestic violence

ORLANDO, Fla. —

An Orlando police officer is facing charges, accused of beating up his girlfriend and then kicking her out of the house.

Officer Danny Sidders was arrested over the weekend after his own colleagues were called to his house for a domestic violence call.

According to a police report, the couple was arguing when Sidders pushed his girlfriend to the floor, and then later locked her out of the house.

Officers stated the victim was bruised and cut.

Sidders has been a police officer for more than 15 years. He was booked into the Orange County jail. Sidders posted a $500 bond and was released.

WFTV is still waiting to hear from the police department about this investigation and Sidders' status.
