Governor to decide fate of Osceola Clerk of Court

 

KISSIMMEE, Fla. —

Osceola County Clerk of Court, Malcom Thompson is waiting to see if Governor Rick Scott will force him to step down following a Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigation into workplace violence

Thompson was served an arrest summons, Friday after at least two employees told authorities that he assaulted them. 

The incidents allegedly happened on December 29th and January 10th at the Osceola county courthouse in Kissimmee.

An investigation by the FDLE determined Thompson shoved one employee and assaulted another.  There is also a witness to one of the incidents.

It will now up be to Governor Rick Scott to decide Thompson’s fate.  He can suggest that the elected official step down until the case is resolved.

Thompson has been the Clerk of Court since 2009.  In the late 1990’s, Thompson as honored as America’s top cop after he shot and killed a man who shot him in Kissimmee.

Thompson seeks re-election in the fall.
