An Osceola County family who lost everything in a house fire received many gifts on Christmas, thanks to a caring community.

Fire investigators said electrical wires in the attic of the St. Cloud home sparked the blaze on Sunday.

However, Tuesday morning, firefighters delivered gift cards, cash, food and clothing to the Logsdon family, which were donated by the community.

Amy Logsdon said the outpouring support from strangers was overwhelming.

"It's unbelievable the amount of help that were getting from the community, and it's heartwarming and it renews your faith," she said.

It was a stranger who saved their lives on Sunday morning.

Someone pounded on the family's door on California Avenue when they saw the raging fire and woke them up.

"By the time we came out, whoever was beating on the door and yelling, 'Fire!' was gone. So we consider him our guardian angel," said Logsdon.

Since Sunday, strangers have stepped up, donating thousands of dollars, food and gifts at the St. Cloud Fire Department, so that the couple and their two kids can have a proper Christmas and eventually rebuild their home.

"This is the better part of the job, getting to actually help people when they need it the most," said firefighter John Jones. "It touches us a lot to see a family go through this, especially through the holidays."

"It's Christmas and all of these families came here to share Christmas with our family. It's overwhelming," said Logsdon.

The family's two vehicles were also destroyed, and someone has pledged to donate a car.

Logsdon said the support helped ease the worry as she tried to explain the incident to her 5-year-old autistic son.

"He keeps on signing that he wants to go home, and there's no home to go home to," said Logsdon.

WFTV found out Tuesday that the Logsdons will soon have a new place to live.

Logsdon said the show of support was the greatest Christmas gift.

"You think you're so alone and you're not.  For these people to come out on their Christmas--there's no words for how grateful we are.  It's humbling," Logsdon said.
