OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. —
An Osceola County Sheriff's deputy has been fired after authorities said he discharged his weapon while intoxicated.
According to the Sheriff's Department, a criminal investigation found that Deputy Michael Carr "discharged his agency-issued weapon while intoxicated while off duty."
Investigators determined that on June 23 Carr was involved in an incident where shots were fired in the area of Running Horse Trail in St. Cloud, according to the Sheriff's office.
Charges of discharging a firearm in public and discharging a firearm while intoxicated were forwarded to the State Attorney's Office, the Sheriff's office said.
Carr was fired on July 5 after an internal sheriff's investigation concluded that he violated three department polices, according to the Sheriff's office.
The department said the incident is still and active criminal investigation pending the State Attorney's Office review.
