Parents fight to keep Seminole Co. schools open

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. —

A group of concerned parents will take their fight to save Geneva Elementary School to the Seminole County school board Tuesday night.

PTA members met with the superintendent Monday night at a town hall meeting.

Geneva is one of eight potential schools on the list to be closed to save the district money.

Parents say cuts should be made to other areas first.

"I'd like to know why it's always the front line that gets cut. I'd like to know if they are cutting middle management at the administration building in Lake Mary," said parent Theresa Murley.

Monday night, parents told the superintendent Geneva plays a big role in the community.

Tuesday's school board meeting starts at 5:30 p.m.
