ORLANDO, Fla. —
An Orlando district fire chief is facing charges, accused of beating up a man during a road rage incident.
Rob Rivenbark, a 25 year veteran, was arrested on misdemeanor battery charges. He bonded out of jail on a $500 bond on Sunday.
The incident happened Saturday when Rivenbark was involved in a fender bender.
The man who rear-ended the district chief said it was an accident, but he claims Rivenbark over reacted.
"A fireman, he would have asked are you okay? But he didn't do that. He threatened to kill me two or three times. He was shaking, beating my head,” said victim, Dave Bremer.
Bremer said Rivenbark was in front of him and slammed on his brakes at the railroad tracks off John Young Parkway. He said he wasn't able to stop in time and rear-ended Rivenbark.
Bremer said Rivenbark then grabbed him in his car.
"He started telling me he was going to kill me," Bremer said. "He grabbed me by the neck and hair and just slammed me."
The police did notify Rivenbark's superiors about the off-duty arrest.
WFTV asked whether the accused fire chief will face any punishment.
Administrators said once they see all the paperwork they'll determine if he should be disciplined.
Bremer was also issued a ticket for following Rivenbark's car too closely.
