Police: man cut father with knife, led officers on wild chase

MELBOURNE, Fla. —

A Melbourne man will be heading to jail Monday morning, accused of cutting his father with a knife and leading officers on a wild chase.

Police said Michael Wease stole his grandmother's Ford Focus after the attack.

When officers spotted the car exiting I-95 southbound they tried to pull Wease over but he refused to stop.

Police set up stop sticks, which deflated a tire, but he still kept going.  He eventually crashed and hit a utility pole.

Police said he will be taken to jail as soon as he is released from the hospital.
