ORLANDO, Fla. —
A man whom police said tied up a woman and tried to rape her was denied bond Wednesday.
Ronald Moses II, 22, was arrested in Orlando Tuesday night.
WFTV was there when Moses was taken to the Orange County Jail.
"Ronald, what do you have to say for yourself? They say you tied a woman up, attacked her, tried to rape her," asked WFTV reporter Kenneth Craig.
Moses did not respond.
According to an arrest affidavit, Moses was inside the home on South Semoran Boulevard, near the intersection of the 408 Expressway, before the victim arrived.
"He could have gone into any of our homes, because we're very relaxed here," said an unidentified neighbor.
Investigators said Moses broke into the home, tied the woman up, pulled her into a bathroom, and tried to choke and rape her. However, the woman fought back, police said.
Police said the victim was able to get a good description of the man, including how he smelled.
The report said the victim said the man smelled like he had been smoking, and he smelled "greasy."
"She gave us very good details of the suspect, down to clothing -- stuff that was able to help us to arrest him," said Vince Ogburn of the Orlando Police Department.
She told investigators that something spooked the man and he ran away.
Police said they didn't have to look too far. They said when they found Moses, he was taking off a jacket, matching the suspect's description and stuffing it into his backpack.
The report said that a few blocks away police found a ski mask and gloves floating in a lake behind a condo complex.
Investigators said Moses told them, "You know what this is going to do to my life?" before he started to cry.
Police said Moses sometimes worked as a mechanic in his family's shop.
They found marijuana on Moses, police said.
WFTV found that Moses' criminal past included charges of battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and escape.
