COCOA BEACH, Fla. —

RaceTrac said it decided to drop its fight to build a mega gas station in Cocoa Beach.

The company filed a lawsuit against the city after commissioners voted down a plan to put a gas station on North Atlantic Avenue.

According to RaceTrac officials, the gas station was going to have 16 pumps and a 59-square-foot convenience store.

Neighbors said it was not a good fit for the area.

The city said it was told the lawsuit will be dropped but is waiting to see something in writing.
