BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. —

A ruptured gas line in West Cocoa forced people half a dozen people out of their homes Tuesday morning.

The one-inch pipe was broken in two places at the end of Magnolia Court, but Florida City Gas crews were able to cap the lines and the evacuation order was lifted.

Florida City Gas said a construction crew with a backhoe accidentally snapped the line.

Workers told Eyewitness News repairs could take the rest of the day.
