The Florida Highway Patrol said a pickup truck, driven by 21-year-old Sean Janiola, lost control heading southbound on Interstate 95 around 4:30 a.m.

Janiola’s truck hit a guardrail, bounced back into the southbound traffic and blocked two lanes, according to Troopers.

A report released by FHP said five other vehicles became entangled in the chain reaction that followed.

According to FHP, an SUV and another vehicle tried avoiding the disabled truck. When the passenger car swerved out of the way, it clipped the SUV and sent the SUV into the guardrail. The passenger car continued southbound.

Three semi-trucks heading southbound also tried to avoid the accident. One jackknifed, a second hit the guardrail and the third tried making it through the debris, causing damage to several tires.

Two people were transported with minor injuries and have since been released. Authorities also had to deal with a small fuel leak on I-95.

Janiola was ticketed for failure to maintain a single lane.

All lanes reopened around 10:25 a.m.
