PINE HILLS, Fla. —
Some Orange County parents had to make some last minute child care arrangements Friday morning after an SUV crashed into a daycare center, leaving a gaping hole in the side.
The crash happened in Pines Hills at "A Place for Tots" daycare.
Investigators said the SUV veered off Pine Hills Road at about 12:30 a.m. Friday, crashed through a fence and into the building.
A man and a woman inside the SUV were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
One had a broken wrist.
The Florida Highway Patrol said neither is admitting to being behind the wheel.
The day care was not open Friday, and parents were turned away.
"It's sad right now because I can't go to work because I have to be here to take her to school and watch my other grandchildren, and it's sad what people do, they don't admit up to what they do and everything and it's hurtful," said grandparent Shana Woodards.
"We're calling the parents and telling them they should not come. It's very bad in the baby room," said day care worker Stella Anaam Friday morning.
Troopers said they were working to figure out exactly who was behind the wheel of the car and if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
Troopers said even if the driver does not admit to being behind the wheel, they can use fingerprints and other evidence to figure out who was driving.
