OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. —
WFTV obtained undercover video that investigators said shows a white supremacist group allegedly planning a race war.
Fourteen members of the American Front were arrested after investigators raided their Osceola County compound in May.
Investigators said a paid informant shot the video of the members doing military training.
According to investigators, the informant said the group was plotting a shooting at Orlando City Hall.
WFTV was the only station to get a copy of the video.
The recordings show racial slurs rampant in the defendants' conversations and include shots of swastikas, guns and knives.
The defendants deny planning a race war or an attack on Orlando City Hall.
The undercover cellphone video was shot by the paid confidential informant known to the American Front members as Jason Hall.
In the video, members are seen firing a gun on a 13-acre property owned by the alleged ringleaders.
In one conversation, one man uses a racial slur in his story about his job collecting trash.
"The (racial slur) on there ... 'You ever done this before?' I'm like, 'No, dude, no.'"
Photos show swastikas and American Front tattoos, a Confederate flag and camouflage clothing.
"White" was a focus of conversation.
When the confidential informant said his friend Angelo would give one of them a job, one of the defendants said the name Angelo doesn't "sound white."
It was even the focus in teaching a little girl about a goose.
"Did you tell mama that you told me what color the goose was? Was that goose white? Was that goose white? Remember, the goose was white?" one member is heard saying.
"If it ain't white, it ain't right," a member is also heard saying.
The confidential informant recorded one member talking about them arming themselves, though what they were arming themselves for isn't made clear.
"You see, that's what I wanted to do. I wanted to make sure everyone had a (expletive) pocket knife."
According to investigators, a part of their plan was to show up at what they believed was a communist event in Melbourne last May.
WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said that if the case depends on the credibility of the informant who was paid $40,000, the prosecution could face monumental problems.
Sheaffer said since talk of alleged race war plans were not heard on the video that could drive the outcome of the case.
