A Brevard County man accused of threatening to kill President Barack Obama has been found guilty in the case.

Christopher Castillo posted a threat on Facebook, promising that if Obama was re-elected he would "hunt him down and kill him [and] watch the life disappear from his eyes."

The court started calling witnesses in the case on Tuesday, including the man who initially reported Castillo to the Secret Service.

During opening statements inside the Orlando federal courtroom, prosecutors told jurors Castillo made the threat on Facebook in response to another comment about Obama online.

Prosecutors said he then went on to say it was more of a promise than a threat.

When investigators went to Castillo's house, he admitted the post and said he meant it and never said he was joking.

The defense argued that Castillo was baited into making the comment by Internet trolls.

They said Castillo is not a violent person and that he has never been in trouble with the law and does not own a firearm.

But the first witness on the stand was the man who turned Castillo in. He said he felt the threat could have been real and that's why he let the Secret Service know about it.

Castillo was arrested in November.
