MARCO ISLAND, Fla. —
A man faces charges after tossing beer cans and shouting obscenities at a wedding party during a beachfront ceremony in Marco Island.
The Naples Daily News reports 22-year-old Bradley John Stiner was drunk when he crashed the ceremony on Friday evening.
Police say Stiner ran behind the alter, then he shouted, "Hey tourists, get off my beach, I'm local." He tossed full beer cans, hitting several people including the best man and yelled obscenities at the wedding party.
Members of the wedding party chased after him. When police caught up with Stiner he said he had the right to be on the beach as a "taxpaying citizen." A police report says Stiner was so intoxicated he had trouble standing without swaying.
He faces a misdemeanor battery charge.
