ORLANDO, Fla. —

A man is facing DUI charges after crashing into the back of a Florida Highway Patrol car.

Troopers said the man drove right through traffic cones that were set up on SR-436 near the 408.

The trooper was not hurt. He was sitting in the road with his lights flashing to protect workers making repairs on the 408.

"The troopers job here is to protect the workers and to make sure none of the workers get hit or hurt," said FHP Sergeant Joseph Faircloth.

Troopers gave the driver a field sobriety test and said he failed. The driver will be charged with careless driving, DUI and driving on a learner's license.

A passenger in his car was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
