Man Facing 982 Charges Of Possessing Child Porn

A Central Florida man was arrested and is facing nearly 1,000 counts of possession of child pornography. Longwood detectives were only made aware of the case after the suspect's estranged wife found hundreds of pornographic images stored on CD that she was packing up.

Suspect Fredrick Gallagher 092105 Fredrick Gallagher Twenty-nine-year-old Fredrick Gallagher, who goes by Eric, is facing 982 charges of possessing child pornography, images detectives found too graphic to describe.

"The simplest way I can put it is children, young enough to be in diapers, depicted in sexually graphic poses, stuff that will turn your stomach immediately," said Officer Herb Stewartson, Longwood Police Department.

What was not known yet was whether Gallagher created any of the images or transmitted them. Police began their investigation after Gallagher's wife found the CDs as she packed his belongings after the couple separated and he moved to Vero Beach.

Police said Gallagher admitted possessing and having created the 29 compact discs that contained the pictures and short video clips.

"He did admit to knowledge of that pornography, that they were underage and it was enough for us to feel like he had downloaded those images. He knew full well what they were and what they were all about," Stewartson said.

Police asked for no bond in the case. Gallagher was scheduled to appear before a judge Thursday.
