LAKE COUNTY, Fla. —

Lake County deputies arrested a man after he brought his dog to an animal clinic.

Nigel Holten, 52, was charged with cruelty to animals after the vet realized the dog was starving, its bones protruding were from its skin and scars covered its body.

The vet said it was the worst case of neglect she'd ever seen and that the dog will have to be euthanized.

Deputies said Holten admitted that he was responsible.
