Seminole County deputies said 25-year-old Jason Morse was shooting at them during a two-county chase over the weekend. Investigators said he carjacked two vehicles and robbed a Walgreens near Lake Mary. Moments later, another police car tried a pit maneuver, but the officer spun out of control.

Deputies said, during the chase, Morse fired at them multiple times, but the bullets never hit anybody.

According to police, they threw out a number of stop sticks and near the 417 his tire finally blew out. It slowed him down, but he wasn't ready to stop yet.

Morse sped west on I-4 until he reached John Young Parkway, where he made a u-turn and headed back east. A deputy hit Morse with one last pit maneuver, sending the car into a ditch.

Many law enforcement officers swarmed in to get their man. With Morse going west on I-4 and then coming back east, the chase covered about 40 miles of interstate. There were over seven law enforcement agencies involved in the chase.

Jason Morse's father Rick told Channel 9 that, before his violent crime spree, he left his father a note.

"Dad, while you were asleep I found your gun and I'm going on the run," he read.

Morse's father didn't want his face shown, but said his son's drug addiction started when he spent time in prison for a crime he didn't commit.

"Please don't hate me or blame yourself. I know you did everything you could for me. Love, Jason," Morse read.

Rick Morse said when his son learned he'd have to spend 15 years in prison for robbing pharmacies or face life behind bars he snapped and went on this most recent crime spree.

Jason Morse has been in trouble before. In April, Channel 9 reported his arrest for allegedly holding up three pharmacies within 30 minutes in Seminole County.
