Man Pulled Over After Allegedly Racing Undercover Deputy

A Florida driver was in for quite a surprise. The Ford Mustang he thought he was racing turned out to be an undercover deputy's car.

Driver Pulled Over For Going 115-MPH The driver from Boca Raton was just passing through on Tuesday. He probably had no idea two cruisers were sharing the road with him. But the unmarked vehicles aren't the only one's sharing Seminole County roads these days.

"We were able to capture the event on video. The driver was quite surprised," said Deputy Andre Shoucair.

Once Rauscher saw the blinking lights and pulled over, he was arrested for racing on a highway and reckless driving.

"This particular system is equipped with two cameras, front and rear, which we can switch back and forth," said Shoucair.

Read more strange news Deputies Sean Niles and Shoucair said they got the distinct impression that Rauscher wanted to match his GT against the two models just obtained by the department two weeks ago through a state grant. They may appear like they are just off the showroom floor, but there are a few extras.

Just Wednesday afternoon, deputies stopped an 18-year-old in a rented car driving 30 over the limit on 436 with no license at all, and if the first two weeks of using the vehicles, the 100 plus stops are an indication they'll be pulling over a lot more drivers.

"The motorists seem to have tunnel vision. They just get from point A to point B. They really have no idea we're out there doing it until it's too late," Shoucair said.

Rauscher has bonded out of jail.

You may have noticed that the drivers in the unmarked cars are in uniform. They say, if you ever have any doubt that the person behind you is an officer, you should acknowledge that you've seen them and you can drive to a more public area where you feel comfortable.
