Homicide detectives and crime scene units are at the scene of what police are calling a suspicious death.

The man was found dead in a wooded area behind the grocery store, just feet from John Young Parkway. Police said it looked like people may have been living there.

Investigators are looking for evidence in the woods that was riddled with clothes, garbage bags and other debris.

Police Sergeant Barbara Jones said she is not sure if the dead man was homeless.

"First we have to find out the manner and cause, but we are going to treat it as though it is a suspicious death and the worst scenario, which would be murder," Jones said.

The man's identity or the cause of death have not been determined.
