New Documents, Evidence Released In Casey Case

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —

Eyewitness News obtained nearly 900 pages of documents and new evidence in the case against Casey Anthony Friday.

The State Attorney's Office released 855 pages of documents Friday morning and Eyewitness News learned the report contains several interviews with people close to Casey Anthony.

The documents also contain new information on people who helped search for Caylee Anthony and information about Casey's employment before Caylee disappeared.

One of the transcripts released is an interview between detectives and Michelle Murphy. Murphy has been a friend of the Anthony family since she was five years old.

Murphy told investigators she was at Caylee's 2nd birthday party when she noticed friction between Casey and her mother, Cindy Anthony.

"It was kind of weird just because I guess it seemed like they were both um…competing kind of," Murphy told detectives.

Michelle Murphy also told investigators she has never heard of Zeneida Gonzalez.

"You ever heard of Zeneida Gonzalez?" asked a detective.

"Never," she responded.

"What about Zanny the Nanny?" he asked.

"Nope," Murphy responded.

The documents also contain a transcript of an interview with Casey's friend Ricardo Morales, Sean Krause a crime blog writer on the internet who had conversations with Cindy and Joy Wray who was a part of the EquuSearch team.

Krause told investigators that Cindy Anthony always suspected Casey had something to do with Caylee's death.

Wray became involved in the case just days after Caylee disappeared and told investigators she searched along Suburban Drive for the body because she had a, "Gut feeling." Wray said she looked around the area for clues at least 10 times, which is the same spot where Caylee's body was found on December 11.

There were also transcripts of depositions with George, Cindy and Lee Anthony from the Zenaida Gonzalez civil case. In the videotaped depositions, each family member seemed to be on the defensive. The Anthonys' Private Investigator Jim Hoover's deposition was also included in the documents.

Caylee Anthony's autopsy and toxicology reports were also supposed to be released Friday, but Judge Stan Strickland ordered a stay (read order) on them following a motion by the Anthonys' attorney, Brad Conway, (read motion) asking to block the results of the findings. The Anthonys say they fear the results will be exploited.

Legal analyst Bill Sheaffer says the motion is a waste of time.

"This is a complete waste of judicial time in addressing this motion," Sheaffer said.

The motion wasn't filed in time to give the media enough notice, so the judge delayed the release and a final decision on the request until all parties can fight it out in court.

It could be a couple of weeks before a hearing is set on whether to release the autopsy findings. The Anthonys' lawyer wants to hold off on the public release until a medical examiner can explain the results.

Casey Anthony, 23, is in the Orange County jail facing first-degree murder charges. She is accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Anthony.

FIRST BOOK ABOUT CASEY ANTHONY CASE TO BE RELEASED

The first book about the Casey Anthony case will soon go on sale. Eyewitness News found a book online called "Mommy's little girl."

The book was written by Diane Fanning, a true crime author, with no connection to the case. It is scheduled to be released in November.

BAEZ FILES MOTION TO OBTAIN PHONE RECORDS

Casey Anthony's defense team files another motion Wednesday (read motion). Jose Baez and his team want the phone records of private investigator Dominic Casey after he decided to prevent Casey's defense team from getting his cell phone records, even though he's posted them on his website.

Dominic Casey and another private investigator named Jim Hoover, recorded themselves searching a wooded area where a child's remains were found. The remains were later confirmed to be those of Caylee Anthony.

On the video recording, Casey is seen talking on the phone. Baez and his team want to know who was on the other end of the line.

BAEZ FILES MOTION TO POSTPONE HEARING

Late Monday afternoon, the Casey Anthony's defense team announced it filed another motion.

Jose Baez and his team are still fighting to keep the public from seeing the jailhouse video that shows Casey's response to learning a child's remains, later identified as Caylee, were found in December.

Monday, Baez asked the court to postpone the next hearing in regards to that tape.

Two weeks ago, the judge delayed his decision on the issue so that lawyers representing the media could weigh in.

P.I. BLOCKS ACCESS TO CELL PHONE RECORDS

The Anthonys' private investigator Dominic Casey has decided to prevent Casey's defense team from getting his cell phone records, even though he's posted them on his website.

Dominic Casey was on his cell phone while private investigator Jim Hoover shot video of Dominic Casey, on November 15 and 16 at the scene where Caylee's remains were discovered a month later on December 11. He had several calls, but with whom is still a mystery.

The private eye posted partial phone records from November on his company website, but the defense wants to know about the other calls.

Casey Anthony's Attorney, Jose Baez, was originally granted access to the private investigator's phone records, because Dominic Casey did not contest a motion that was filed by Baez.
