Pastor Accused Of Stealing From Church Member

An Osceola County woman told Eyewitness News she was ripped off by her pastor, and it is not the first time he has been accused of taking money from members of his congregation.

Norma Beckett says Pastor O'Meal Reid of Every Nation Church swindled her out of nearly $15,000.

She says Reid befriended her and borrowed the money, but never returned the full amount.

"Well I didn't want him to lose the lease so I go pay for it. So he gives me a check and it bounces," said Beckett, alleged victim.

The pastor defended himself by saying he has returned every dime he ever borrowed.

Police say it is a civil matter because Beckett knowingly gave Reid the money.

Beckett is suing and will be in court next week.
