KISSIMMEE, Fla. —
Kissimmee police said they are hoping to catch a man they believe has made lewd comments to at least three young girls walking home from school.
Police released a composite sketch after the latest incident happened in Kissimmee on Oct. 4.
Investigators told WFTV's Nancy Alvarez the man drove past a 10-year-old girl as she walked home from Mill Creek Elementary last week. Police said the man made lewd comments referring to his privates, and then drove off.
Kissimmee police believe it could be the same man behind two similar incidents that happened in the past month. Detectives said in all three cases, the man has been in a white SUV.
Detectives said the same thing happened to two other girls walking from Kissimmee Elementary in the last month. In at least one case, police said the man exposed himself.
"This person hasn't gotten out of his vehicle. He hasn't touched these children, but that could change at any point," said Stacie Miller, spokeswoman for the Kissimmee Police Department.
Kissimmee police said they want to catch the man before his actions escalate. In the meantime, they're urging parents to talk to their kids.
"If something suspicious happens, tell them to report it right away. Don't talk to strangers. Don't go up to a vehicle if someone is in there you don't know," said Miller.
Parents like Stephanie Quinones now have another reason to make sure they walk their kids to and from school.
"They're constantly with me. They don't like that, but they don't have a choice with people like that out there," said Quinones.
Investigators said police, along with undercover officers, will be patrolling the area.
