PALM BAY, Fla. —
Palm Bay police said two people who were assisting a DUI driver were struck by another DUI driver early Saturday morning.
The incident happened shortly after 1:00 a.m. in the area of Minton Road and Palm Bay Road.
According to police, a witness and a Brevard County paramedic were assisting a DUI driver who was found asleep behind the wheel at the intersection.
Investigators said that's when a second DUI driver crashed into the scene, hitting both the witness and the paramedic. They were rushed to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Both drivers were arrested for DUI, police said. The DUI suspect who crashed was identified as Brian Washington. Washington may face additional charges stemming from the crash.
Palm Bay police are investigating the incident.
