The man accused of posting a threat on Facebook about a shooting at Winter Park High School bonded out of jail Sunday afternoon.

Police arrested 24-year-old Jeremy Chilik early Saturday morning for allegedly making a threat about a shooting at Winter Park High School on Facebook.

Chilik was booked into the Seminole County jail and charged with written threats to kill or do bodily injury, investigators said. On Sunday, Chilik was transferred to the Orange County jail because the case originated in Orange County.

Around 4:00 p.m. Sunday, Chilik bonded out of the Orange County jail.

Chilik is accused of making threats on Facebook about a shooting at Winter Park High School on Thursday. Police have not said if Chilik is a former student of Winter Park High School or if he has any connection to the school.

Thursday morning, more than 3,000 students at Winter Park High School were put on a lockdown after Chilik allegedly posted threats on Facebook Wednesday saying that he would shoot up the school.

Police placed the school on modified code yellow lockdown, which means the doors were locked during class periods and bathroom breaks were limited.

Before school started Thursday morning, a call went out to every parent letting them know about the threat. But some parents weren't taking any chances, and WFTV was there as they scrambled to pick up their children.

"(My son) texted me this morning saying that there was a threat, that there was going to be a shooting at school on Facebook, and to please pick him up because he was afraid. He was scared," said parent Jacqueline Marrero.

"When your daughter calls you three or four times and tells you to come get her, you want to go get her," said parent Adrienne Downey.

But no one got on campus without giving up their license plate number and showing identification, police said. Winter Park police tried to calm fears, adding a third school resource officer to the campus.

Investigators said Chilik messaged the threat to a Winter Park High School student on the social media site. Officials have not said if the threat was targeting the individual student or the entire school.
