Investigators said Bieberle was inside an apartment complex on University Boulevard riding in the basket of a shopping cart while hanging onto the back of a moving SUV. Monday morning, state investigators were still trying to figure out if the driver should be charged in the incident.

Eyewitness News found dozens of clips online showing people riding inside shopping carts that were either being pulled or pushed by cars, the same stunt that killed 18-year-old Cameron Bieberle over the weekend.

"Kids sort of do stuff like that all the time. You can't really account for it," said Thomas Bartolillo, a resident in the apartment complex.

Investigators said the Winter Park teen was sitting inside the shopping cart hanging onto the back of an SUV. State troopers said Bieberle's friend, 23-year-old Michael Smith, was driving through the parking lot at the University Walk apartments when he hit a speed bump. Bieberle was thrown out of the shopping cart and hit his head.

"It's irresponsible behavior, I guess, but what do you expect from kids," said Sean Baldwin, a resident at the University Walk apartments.

People who live in the complex said a lot of young people and college students live there and the accident proves that the stunt normally seen on TV or online can be deadly.

"People do it, but they need to think through it and make sure they know what happens if they mess up," Bartolillo added.

It could be a few days before state investigators decide whether or not to charge the driver of the SUV.
