OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. —
The victims had just started lifting up the garage door at their home on Mardi Gras Drive in Poinciana when the crook ran under the door, jumped into the back seat of their car, and robbed them at gunpoint, according to police.
"I said, 'This could not be happening to me.' I said, 'Where is this guy coming from?'," said one sister. The two sisters asked not to be identified.
The 55-year-old twins said they were on their way to church. They're from the United Kingdom and moved into the quiet community five years ago.
At first, they asked the armed robber if he needed a ride. But, when he pulled out the gun and demanded cash, they knew they were in danger.
"I wasn't thinking a thing. I just wanted him out the car," said one sister.
Investigators say the way the man waited for the victims to open their garage door probably meant the women were targeted.
The robber only got away with one purse but there was no cash in it, just an I.D. and a Bible.
"I wasn't going to fight back because my life was at stake and then I would lose my life and that's it, so you just play it calm," said one sister.
The two sisters say they hope the crook opens the Bible up.
"If he cannot learn from that, then there's no hope for him," said one sister.
