Officer Dan Nesmith has now been fired from the force. He admitted to the party after his own taser was used as evidence against him. It turns out every police taser has a computer chip in it and that told Eustis' police chief when it was fired.

It's absolutely shocking that a police officer would host a house party with kids as young as 15 and 16 drinking, but it is jaw-dropping to watch a cop who's been drinking offer to use a taser on a 15-year-old boy in the middle of the big birthday bash.

"You're gonna get five seconds. You will have two marks. These will be signature marks," Nesmith tells the 15-year-old on home video showing the incident.

It was the shot that ended Officer Dan Nesmith's career as a Eustis police officer.

Taser Police Chief 101708 POLICE CHIEF SPEAKS Watch Interview "We found out that he was involved, that it was a 15-year-old involved and that there were approximately 50 people at the party and 20 or so were underage," Police Chief Fred Cobb told Eyewitness News in an interview Friday.

Chief Cobb says Nesmith was a fine officer and well respected, but was shocked by the incident.

"Is totally inexcusable," he said. "At the end of the day, he didn't exercise the same judgment that he is expected to exercise in the performance of his duty."

The investigation started with a rumor and that was verified when Eustis police collected electronic data from all of its issued tasers only to find Nesmith's had been fired on the night in question. He admitted to everything.

"He readily admitted he was the one involved in the incident, he explained the circumstances, was embarrassed by his poor judgment and offered no excuses," the chief said.

The police chief said the incident didn't happen in his jurisdiction, but he's turning his report over to Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the state attorney.

"It was always one of my life goals to get tased and I finally did," Tyler told Eyewitness News. "I don't know. I just asked him and he's like, 'Okay.' I'm like, 'Okay.' Him getting fired, that wasn't too good."

Tyler's mom agrees, believing firing Nesmith is a little much, even though he was hosting a party where teens were drinking and possibly driving away intoxicated.

"He came home and told me he got tased," Debbie Davis said.

"Do you think [Nesmith] should get another chance as an officer?" WFTV reporter asked her.

"Yeah, I do," she said.
