ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —
Her husband, Charles Adams, told Eyewitness News he isn't surprised. Charles says reckless drivers in the neighborhood are a major issue.
Charles Adams is the homeowners' association president and says he's been trying to get help for months. Drivers have run into light poles, fences, homes and now his wife.
“I was hoping it would never come to this. Obviously it looks like they don’t do anything until someone's hurt or killed. It’s got to stop,” he said.
Nancy Adams suffered two broken legs, a collapsed lung and a broken hip. She's in critical condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
The driver of the car admitted he was changing the radio station when he ran off the road. Investigators say charges against the driver are pending.
