Woman Stabbed Several Times In Brutal Purse Snatching

PALM BAY, Fla. —

A woman walking into a Denny's Restaurant was attacked and stabbed six times by another woman who was trying to take her purse.

According to Palm Bay Police, 48 year old Penelope Cardinale suffered stab and slashing wounds as she entered the restaurant at Palm Bay road and Hollywood Blvd. Saturday night.

Police said that the attacker wanted Cardinale's purse, and after the attack fled in a Buick Century. The area was cordoned off, and soon after the car was spotted at Port Malabar and Babcock Road.

After a short pursuit down Port Malabar Blvd, the car was pulled over and 27 year old Kim Bray was taken into custody.

She was later identified as the woman who attacked Cardinale by eyewitnesses at the scene.

A knife and what police described as a large amount of evidence were also recovered.

Cardniale was taken to Palm Bay Hospital where she was treated and released.

Bray was booked into the Brevard County Jail.
