It can be a challenge, and some parents get overwhelmed by the task of choosing, purchasing, and installing the car seat before their baby has even arrived. Don’t let your worries get the best of your – our Orlando Toyota dealership is here to help with big tips!
Can you install a car seat in your new Toyota?
Installing the car seat can be a daunting process, as you want to ensure it’s done properly so it can do its job and keep your tiny passengers safe. Luckily for you, every single new Toyota in Orlando comes with the LATCH system, which stands for Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children. This system helps you easily install your car seat without fuss. However, if you’re still concerned you can call your local fire or police station and schedule an appointment to have them show you how to install the car seat!
What type of car seat should you put in your Orlando Toyota?
Choosing the right car seat for your new Toyota in Orlando is just as important as properly installing it! There are different types of car seats available to you, and each one offers a different drive time experience. We’re breaking them down for you so it’s easier to decide which one is best for you, your kids, and your Orlando Toyota!
Rear-facing car seats: These are best for children under the age of 2 – they’re more prone to head and spinal injuries, and rear-facing car seats offer a higher degree of protection from these risks should you find your new Toyota in an accident. Keep your kids in them until they’re past the weight/height restrictions!
Forward-facing car seats: These types of car seats fall into two categories: convertible, and front-facing with a harness. Whichever works for you is your decision, but make sure you install the seat in your Orlando Toyota and use it until your child has outgrown it in terms of weight/height for maximum safety.
Booster car seats: These seats are for kids who have outgrown their forward-facing seats, but are still too small for the seatbelt to fit them correctly. Booster seats give them a bit more height so your new Toyota’s seatbelts hit in the right spots (with the shoulder part across the chest and the lower part across the lap). Keep your child in one until he/she is tall enough to properly wear the seatbelt in your new Toyota!
Even when your passengers are done with car seats, you should ALWAYS ensure that everyone wears a seatbelt and wears it properly to avoid injury and help offer protection in an accident!
