Sources with UCF and the Big East Conference have confirmed to Channel 9 that UCF and four other schools will officially be invited to join the conference on Wednesday.

UCF, Southern Methodist University and Houston will be moving from Conference USA to the Big East as members in all sports, while Boise State and San Diego State will join in football only.

A source with UCF says the Knights have been talking to the Big East nearly every day and they expect conference to make their expansion announcement in a teleconference by 5:00 pm on Wednesday. Because the call would come late i the afternoon the source says UCF will wait until Thursday to hold their own news conference.

A source with the Big East says officials have spent the last couple of days finalizing their agreements with the schools.
