DARTHMOUTH, Mass. — A woman is recovering after being carjacked by a man who allegedly beat her with a beer bottle.

The woman was waiting for her son to get out of work at Best Buy in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, when she said the man walked up asking for directions.

Police say once the suspect, Jeffrey Link was inside the car, he started he started hitting Medeiros with a Michelob Ultra beer bottle. Mederios opened the passenger door and got out, and Link drove off, said police.

"Once I got hit, I was just blood just started gushing everywhere," she said.

Best Buy called 911 and police were able to track down the car because holly's cell phone was still in the car and it had a "Find My Phone" app on it.

Link was arrested and is facing several charges, including assault with intent to murder.

Mederios was released from the hospital with stitches, a broken nose and other cuts.  She's sore but relieved nobody was seriously hurt and still has a positive outlook on life.

"I don't think it's going to change the way I am, you know what I mean, I'm a very trusting person but I don't... We'll see," she said.

In court, WFXT learned about other criminal charges Link is facing. From a case in Fall River, Link is charged with indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 and indecent assault and battery of a child over 14 and enticing a child under 14.

Link's bail was set at $250,000.
