“Lovie” Duncan, the girl in the photo, was visiting the Harriet Tubman Museum & Educational Center in Cambridge, Maryland, with her grandmother, Tracy Kilgore Lynndee, the television station reported.

The mural, created by Maryland artist Michael Rosato, was being painted on the wall and was nearly complete, and only Tubman's right hand was left unpainted.

Lovie wanted to give Tubman a high-five, Lynndee told WUSA, and so she snapped a photo of her granddaughter.

tweet of the photo posted by journalist Yashar Ali has been shared nearly 2,000 times.

Tubman, who was born a slave in Maryland, helped other slaves escape to freedom through the Underground Railroad. Lynndee said exposing her granddaughter to Tubman’s art and story was beneficial.

"Any exposure to art is extremely important," Lynndee told WUSA.
