Patients who suffer from seizure disorders may have another treatment available to them.
Some medical cannabis providers started selling a type of low-THC cannabis oil called "Haleigh's Hope" on Monday,
.
It is a type of anti-seizure treatment named after Haliegh Cox, a child from Georgia who suffers from Lennon-Gastaut syndrome.
Haliegh had suffered from hundreds of seizures a day and was being treated by five different medications, CNN reported.
That was until her parents found out about a form of medical marijuana used to treat her condition. She started a treatment of cannabis oil, four times a day and once at night.
Five companies in Florida have been given permission by the state to grow medical marijuana last year, but only one, Costa Farms, is the only one allowed to manufacture "Haleigh's Hope," WFOR reported.
Meanwhile, Florida residents will vote on an amendment to use marijuana for more medical issues in November.
