Nicolas Sanchez of Boynton Beach and Gonzalo Munoz of Lake Worth are facing charges of robbery after they and three juveniles attacked the boy in the Tavares Cove mobile-home community, just east of Palm Beach city limits, the report said. They are accused of stealing a pair of $300 sneakers that the boy had in a box and another pair of $200 sneakers he was wearing.

The boy told Palm Beach County sheriff’s detectives that he went to a birthday party with the intent of selling Air Jordan Retro 12 sneakers valued at $300 to a friend.

The boy left the party at about 12:45 a.m. with the sneakers in their original box when he was pushed to the ground, the report said. Five people he had seen earlier at the party began kicking and punching the boy while he was on the ground.

The sneakers were taken from his hands and the attackers also pulled off a pair of Air Jordan Retro 14 sneakers the boy had on his feet, the report said.

Deputies detained Sanchez, 22, Munoz, 19, a 17-year-old boy and two other juveniles who were not identified. The boy was able to identify the five attackers.

Sanchez and Munoz are being held in lieu of $7,500 bail.
